LNG 2.0: The Reinvention of LNG Business and Contracting Models in Asia

by AAA-ICDR Asia Case Management Centre

26 August, Wednesday

08:30 - 10:30

Baker Botts

The LNG industry is entering a new phase of commercial evolution. Traditional project-based business models are increasingly coexisting with portfolio LNG, more dynamic procurement strategies, evolving pricing mechanisms and new infrastructure delivery models. As new LNG importers emerge across Southeast Asia and established market participants adapt to changing commercial realities, long-standing assumptions about how LNG projects are structured, financed, contracted and operated are being fundamentally re-examined.

This panel will explore how LNG business and contracting models are evolving across the value chain, and the commercial, legal and strategic implications of that evolution. Drawing on transactional, market, industry and disputes perspectives, the discussion will examine how participants are responding to changing market dynamics, allocating risk in long-term projects and contracts, and navigating an increasingly sophisticated and interconnected LNG ecosystem.
